Jefferson Alade (he/him) is an interdisciplinary creative
He holds a Master of Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Music Industry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
A curatorial designer, Jefferson’s practice moves fluidly across design and curation, operating in media res. At the heart of his practice lies embodied autoethnography. By seeking a somatic understanding of a phenomenon, Jefferson tells stories that resonate with the zeitgeist. His curatorial design ethos is repurposeful, responding to what is offered and shaping conditions for exchanges and encounters.
As the principal of JOMA Studios, he leads creative direction across its two arms: The Ryze, a storytelling platform producing music, podcasts, DJ mixes, and events, and kinesthetics, a curatorial design research unit exploring embodied knowledge.
